Using on Linux for backup

I use multiple backups. This is one I can keep in my pocket. Works great and fast.
After experimenting, I found that reformatting to EXT4 for my Linux system and then disabling journaling, the disk works fast and dependable. If you do not disable journaling for the EXT4 format, it seems to do a whole lot more writing to the drive and eventually leads to it's earlier than normal failure.
After getting it all set, the only negative I can think of is it's size. It fits great in the pocket but could easily be misplaced or lost.

These seemed like a great value, and I love how small and innocuous they are, but they are made of really thin plastic and seem like they could very easily break. I did see others saying that their broke, but I will say that I've never had one break, although I haven't given them very heavy use either. The feel like they will break though. The other problem is the heat. With such a small size, these can get REALLY hot when you are reading or writing to them. I've never had one melt or burn, but others users reported this. So I guess I would say that my experience has been fine so far, but I'm still worried that they might burn or break.

I transferred 500 GB of various movie files, work files and GoPro videos. 20 - 130 MB/s transfer depending on file size and whether I was transferring from computer microSD card, external drives or computer hard drive. It took me 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete all these file transfers. I did same transfer using other 512 GB and multiple 256 GB flash memory sticks using 3.0/3.1 USB technology. Average 75 MB/s vs. 25 MB/s speed means it was triple time with 3.0/3.1 technology. So worked and improved on performance as advertised. I also noticed flash drives that were good brands like this SanDisk or Samsung did not have file transfer corruptions like those off brands. I returned those other flash drives that were off brands I purchased from Amazon because the flash drives would get corrupted by screwing up video files or start having very slow transfer times even after reformatting. Hours wasted in file transfer time, reformatting and trying to troubleshoot 4K and 2K videos that won't play. Really not worth the time and headache to save a few bucks with these off brands. I will just pay the extra $5 to $10 and buy Samsung from now on for flash drives sticks and microSD cards.

This SanDisk 3.2 Gen 1 flash memory stick would not read when directly connected to USB ports on my 2017-2021 Smart Samsung TVs or LG TVs. All TVs were 4K/UHD. I found using a USB 3.0/3.1 extension cord got this Samsung flash drive stick to read. And all the 4K and 2K videos played no problem on the TVs which I expected sine the same video and movie files were working on the TVs with the other flash memory sticks which were USB 3.0/3.1. The Samsung 3.2 Gen 1 would read and play when directly connected to the USB ports of my Roku Ultra and Wifi-Wireless Routers. I am extremely happy with the performance. This makes life a whole lot easier when traveling and needing to quickly copy files or watch movies on various devices. I just need to bring the 3.0/3.1 USB extension in case TVs don't read the stick directly.

Worked right out of the packaging. (I own 3 of these) They all work great but have their pros and cons.

Pros: Cheap. Memory is accurate. Affordable. Plug and play.

Cons: Gets a tad warm if used too long but considering I have ran it for 8 hour straight recording gameplay it still manages to stay in one piece.

Slow read and write. Some files take longer however I have found if trying to write multiple files to the drive it tends to get laggy and can take quite awhile longer so I suggest a file at a time.

Easy to lose as its about the size of a penny. I have made my own lanyards for this particular item out of old electronic cord and have never lost them. Suggest doing the same.

Overall I am pleased with this external drive and has yet to let me down. Note: I use this nearly everyday and have never had any issues and this applies to all three I own.

Se calentaba demasiado y tardaba muchísimo en pasar archivos, como se ve en la foto intenté pasarle 140 GB que no es ni la mitad de su capacidad y dice que iba a tardar 32 días en terminar, por dios. Y la noche anterior había intentado pasarle 7 GB y tardó 11 horas, tuve que dejar mi computadora encendida toda la noche. No es posible que para pasarle una película tarde 8 o 10 horas, y después de dos días dejó de funcionar, ya no la detectaba ninguna de mis computadoras. Mi computadora es una Macbook Air M1.

Super small. I have it connected to my laptop all the time, with store some portable apps and for continuous backup of docs/files from specific folders on my machine. It works well. Fast. Simple. And although it is warm, it is not overheating / nor burning hot, even though it's hooked up virtually all the time, and that machine is running 24/7. The only negative -although not applicable in my personal use case - is that it is not overly fast when moving large files. All in all, great price for capacity.
